Nice work Felix and easy to follow. I'm going to add a switch directly to the pump and wire the active internally. You have a sweet and gentle way of sharing your knowledge. Thank you
What is the voltage limition? 0 to ?
Yeah didnt help, anyone can find the damn thing but im looking for where to plug it in
*Watched this again today after talking to chatgpt about photo emulsion solder stencil making. This video is great. Among the best electronics tutorials on this platform. Thanks again!*
Hi there! Is this available as open source or for sale? Please let me know. Thanks in advance!
Absolutely horrific showing from the CN paste, probably extremely toxic too, that flux looks disgusting.
What is the maximum input voltage?
You need to read the guide, you cannot apply a voltage to this device, you need to pass a current through it. lowpowerlab.com/currentranger
Thanks, I know you have to pass current through it and it that current that is being measured. But what voltage w.r.t. ground can be applied at the input? That is can it be inserted in the high side of a 12v battery to determine the current supplied to a 12 v load?
Yes, you can. But be sure to float the Current Ranger, it is not connected to ANY ground whatsoever or you can damage it. That's the key. You just pass the 12v high through it, that's it, nothing else.
@@FelixRusu Thank you. Got it
thank you very much . can you use a shelly uni inside the door lock to control the lock ? it has 2 dry contact and it's powered by 12v.
Great idea, hope to test it soon.
Awesome! Looks great. Just ordered one and can't wait to try it out.
One more question :). Is there an instruction to set up the HC06 BT logger? It is definitely not straightforward.
Please see: lowpowerlab.com/guide/currentranger/bluetooth-data-logging/
Huh smart. tho I'm scared of acids!!
very nice procedure!
Why on earth is what the rest of the industry calls paste mask layer called a "cream" layer? Is that an Eagle thing?
don't you need to cover the back of board as well to prevent the etchant from eating away the surface?
No, that side is painted/coated.
Very nice
Nice 👍👍
ok just take my $7
For the next revision i would narrow down the oled header holes to 0.8-0.85mm such that the shield plugs in directly without any socket, it will look cooler.
I was wondering initially whether this method is suitable for spray lettering/labeling stencils but I don't think so. All the rectangles of your project turned rounded.
Thank you! Did the same thing when replacing rear struts.
Amazing result for amazing job for cheap solution !!!!! Congratulations!
Have you made the PCB for FM / VHF / UHF frequencies ?
Saw now. Nicely done. Thanks!
Is it theoretically possible that I have fried my RFM69 even with an antenna? I had “radio init SUCCESS” for a while but after I tried to transmit my own data it became “radio init FAIL”. The 2nd board I tested with worked just fine so I know it’s definitely not a software issue
so glad this still exists! I forgot how this was set up for my Nin10do kit I built in 2016/2017.
I wonder if sodium hydroxide works as well...
If you’re trying to pronounce the name imagine a sledgehammer but make the sledge part sound like age and you’ve got the correct pronunciation Schlage hammer!
The fact that people can’t pronounce Schlage cracks me up every time. If you know anything about locks you should know how to pronounce the name L O L. It’s S L A AGE. It rhymes with age.
Hi, you do not cover reverse side from etching?
No, it's not needed.
@@FelixRusu Thanks for your prompt reply. It is surprising for me that acid do not etch the reverse side. Probably etching need good access of fresh acid. :-)
Nice!
Andreas Spiess mentions you in his videos. I hope to learn as much with your videos as I do with his.
Nice, could 60W laser just cut in aluminium soda can for perfect finish?
No, you need fiber laser to cut metal.
I was thinking about using a photoresistor to detect if mailbox was opened. When exposed to light there is less resistance and that perhaps in some way could let some current through , enough to wake up the esp32 ? I was going to place the unit in teh back of the mail box towards the top.
Why are you toe nailing shit?
Wondering why do some RFM69 modules come with two large PCB pads? What is their purpose?
Looking for an instruction on the firmware. I use Arduino regularly but it doesn't recognize the Current Ranger. Really all I want to do is disable auto power down.
If you don't have the latest firmware there is a bug that will prevent AUTO-OFF to function properly (unit will still turn OFF after several hours). So first I would update the firmware, follow the guide here for that: lowpowerlab.com/guide/currentranger/programming-firmware-updates/ Secondly, there is a serial menu that allows you to disable AUTO-OFF functionality, explained here: lowpowerlab.com/guide/currentranger/auto-power-off-function/
@@FelixRusu Thank you!
Excellent video. I have a PCB antenna that is broken and I wanted to see if there was a solution. How can I send you the image? Greetings from Peru.
Nice idea will try it out i have such a pump
Dude this guy is fast as fuck
wait I still dnt get how this works.. the toner, you mean the printer ink? The printers ink will be enough to act as a barrier for the etching? I dont get how this is possible without cutting out the small holes..
Is it possible to use dry film and ferric chloride? Is it possible to just print a negative on an acetate overhead sheet, laminate the dry film on the aluminum, develope the result, and then etch with ferric chloride or your phosphoric acid/peroxide mix? I figure if it would work, it would probably improve the definition for very small solder lands.
I think it would work. The only way to really perfect the details is to try it and repeat until you get the results you're after.
@@FelixRusu Thanks for responding. Perfect results aren't really the aim, I'll save that for the PCB development, really all I'm trying to do is to get really small pitched traces. I just want to be able to solder QFN packages, other high count small pitch packages, and small SMD components. Do you think that would be possible with this technique?
@@lanceuppercut8220 Quite possibly, but I haven't tried this specific recipe. The key is to not have an aggressive acid mix but rather one that will take longer but is easier to control and keep even in etching. If you're heating it to help the etch then mix it thoroughly all the time, you dont want cold spots where it will etch slower, you want uniform etching. Also copper heavy regions will tend to etch slower rather than small areas (and dull the acidity around those areas), so keep that in mind when you route your board and try to keep the copper balanced, or use grid pours. hope it helps you
Thank you!
We are actually planning to buy it. What is the max range of current it can take? as we are using LORA and its peak current is 140mA. We want to study sleep currents and battery life calculation with help of this device.
Hi Design EME - It can measure up to ~3.3A.
@@FelixRusu we have purchased the ranger. Its nice product. Thank you. I wanted to know what is sampling speed in milliseconds for serial logging? FAST ,AVG & SLOW. We wanted that info for serial plotting.
@@designeme1809 This will depend on several factors, so it's not a fixed speed. It can be 1-2ksps, try the CurrentViewer, it shows the sampling rate in the GUI. github.com/MGX3D/CurrentViewer
@@FelixRusu thank you. We found the GUI. Our main application requires Battery Life calculation. Do you which software will be best to find that out using our current ranger data? Found some information on Grafana. But We are not expertise in that area.
That is up to you, we just provide a generic serial output that you can plug into the program of your choice. On the CR product guide there are some suggested 3rd party programs which you can try out: lowpowerlab.com/guide/currentranger/bluetooth-data-logging/
Can I use the I2C channel to read the measurement data with a microcontroller?
You could but you'd have to modify the firmware, and I would not recommend that. It would be way slower than serial output.
Nice info, keep it up,thanks for sharing :)
What is a PCB?
не плохо, но, по совокупности затрат эта технология , приближается к удалению гланд (полипов в горле) газовым резаком (автогеном) через жопу (через анальное отверстие)
very good video
Can this be cut on a 20W diode laser like the Ortur LM 2 Pro? If not, do you know what material would work? What material are you using? Where would I get it?
I dont think so. But I dont have that machine so I have no way to check. The video details what material is used and how to cut it etc.
